"Secret to a good life's knowin' when you're through..."
To be among the blogging world once again...Not that I've anything new to say, but I have an evening free, and figured I'd spend some quality time babbling on about the daily grind that is my life. Besides, it's only 7.30, and I've got a few hours to kill before I head off to sleep.
I finally got the license plate issue taken care of...Last night I took my car over to the nice folks who fixed me up with my brand-spankin' new tire after my blow-out Labor Day. Dude said he'd have to cut another notch in the screw, and asked if I could bring it back the next day...So I took it back at lunch today, and because I was kind of pressed for time (and they were in the middle of an oil change), wound up walking probably a good two miles back to work. Sandy laughed at me and told me I should've called to have someone come pick me up. I said it was cool (my flabby butt can use the exercise!), but that I might try bumming a ride from someone after work to get back out there. No go there. Holly left before I could ask her, and I wasn't sure where Marcey & Jen were. So I walked back out there, but to my joy, dude got the screw out, and didn't charge me at all for it!
So I didn't have to walk home in the dark, which was good. I stopped on the way home to buy the first packs of cigarettes I've had to purchase since moving here. Between my dad, my uncle, and my grandfather, I had 4 or 5 cartons when I came out here. I just finished the last pack this afternoon. I don't think that's too bad, considering I'd been smoking roughly a pack a day in the months before I left OH.
I also found out what my paycheck's like this time around...I'm going shopping with Jay's mom on Thursday, and I think I'm going to start my Christmas shopping. I think some of the stuff Jay might split with me, but I'd like to go ahead and get Greg's present out of the way (I got his name in the family drawing), and maybe get my nieces done as well. I know what I'm getting Jay, but since he reads this and posts on here, I can't mention it! Really, the only person I need to figure out something for is my mom...So Mom, give me some ideas, here! I know you read this...Help me out (and don't give me that line of "Having you home at Christmas is present enough")! It's kind of sad that the money will be deposited later tonight, and the vast majority of it's already gone! Friggin' bills. However, I should have at least enough to buy some presents and maybe treat myself to something fun. We shall see.
I think I might go see if I can get my plates on my car...I also feel the need for a smoke. And I have some kitchen cleaning to get done as well. But knowing me, I'll probably put off the kitchen until lord knows when, and just sit here playing around online for most of the night!
